Family Mediation at Sussex Peaceful Solutions

At Sussex Peaceful Solutions, based in Brighton, Hove, Worthing and surrounding areas, we offer family mediation in a relaxed and friendly environment. We are here to support you and your family through a period of change, usually where this has occurred as a result of separation, divorce or family restructuring. We also offer dispute resolution services for workplace, civil and commercial matters where an impartial third party is needed.

Please feel free to ring us for an informal discussion about your situation. We offer a free telephone consultation to help you decide if mediation is suitable for you.
In cases where the other party has yet to agree to mediation, we will write to them and follow up with a call to talk about what mediation has to offer.

What some of our clients have to say :

“Thank you Julia – you are great at what you do, balanced and fair but also perceptive and  understanding of the underlying circumstances”…..“I feel so much better about my situation after coming to see Julia” …..“Julia is kind and patient and made me feel someone finally cared and wanted to listen”…..

Family breakdown is distressing so you may well be worried about the effect on your children and we can help in different ways. The aim of family mediation is to agree on practical, workable arrangements for the future, taking into account children’s views, needs and feelings.

Our focus is on putting children’s needs first and making divorce and separation less stressful for everyone. Whilst our main focus is on the well being of children, we also mediate on a wide range of other family relationship issues for example:

    • Couples going through separation or divorce
    • Parents seeking to discuss arrangements for their children
    • We are a committed equal opportunities service and welcome referrals from LGBT couples
    • Grandparents or other relatives seeking to discuss arrangements for time with children
  • Long term separated and divorced couples. step-families, parent/teenager, grandparent/parent and financial and property matters.

Sussex Peaceful Solutions is run by Julia Warnes and is currently based in Hove with a further office in Worthing.
Julia completed her Family Mediation training with National Family Mediation, one the most respected mediation organisations accredited by the Family Mediation Council.

Julia is also involved in the CLOCK programme run in conjunction with the Law School at Sussex University, offering free support and advice to litigants in person. Please ask for more information.

Julia’s easy-going and friendly style helps clients feel at ease and her empathetic manner will help you through what is undoubtedly a period of intense change and stress. Her aim is to treat you as kindly as possible. Please read some of the testimonials above that she has received.

Julia has a strong financial background and is very comfortable discussing family finances and as part of our exclusive service we also offer a comprehensive financial report relating to your property, pension and other financial matters which may have to change as a result of your separation.
As rules relating mortgages etc. have changed so drastically recently, we have forged a unique alliance with an independent firm of Financial Advisers to help provide you with all of the financial information you need to make informed decisions together.

We draft this after the joint meeting at no additional cost to yourselves.

Many people repeatedly go to court to argue over matters they are better placed to sort out themselves – like securing 30 minutes extra contact time or varying their allocated contact days.
This is expensive and emotionally draining for all concerned. Parents are best placed to resolve these types of issues and family mediation at Sussex Peaceful Solutions can help them do this.

Family mediators have undergone thorough training and an accreditation and registration process and have extensive knowledge and understanding of the complexity of family life and separation, divorce and family restructuring. They all work to professional standards and go through an annual renewal process to demonstrate that they have met the required standards of practice, and supervision.

After all, you know best what will work for your family…………..
